Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters at capVerse

Effective date: November 15, 2024. This statement describes the data we collect while helping you turn long-form videos into short-form clips, and the choices available to you.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how capVerse (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you upload media, generate caption presets, or otherwise interact with our web app. By using capVerse you consent to the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

Account data: email address, name, avatar, authentication tokens, and billing identifiers created through Supabase Auth or OAuth providers such as Google.

Content data: videos, audio snippets, captions, hooks, presets, thumbnails, and other assets you upload or generate in the editor bench or via the API.

Usage data: device characteristics, browser type, IP address, feature engagement, error logs, and approximate location derived from analytics to maintain platform reliability.

Payment data: plan selection and billing status is processed by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). We never store your full card number or CVV on our servers.

3. How we use information

Service delivery: ingest videos, transcribe speech, render overlays, and host downloads requested through the dashboard or API.

Product improvement: analyze aggregated usage trends, benchmark render success rates, and prioritize roadmap items.

Security: detect abusive uploads, limit rate of automated requests, and protect accounts with session monitoring.

Communication: email status updates, product announcements, or respond to support inquiries you initiate.

4. Sharing and disclosure

Vendors: we rely on vetted infrastructure and analytics providers (Supabase, AWS, AssemblyAI, OpenAI, Stripe, Pexels) to operate core features. Vendors only receive the data needed to provide their services.

Legal: we may disclose information to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of capVerse, our users, or the public.

No selling of data: we do not sell or rent personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data retention

Project artifacts (videos, renders, transcripts) are retained while your account remains active, so you can re-export clips. You may delete projects at any time from the dashboard.

When you close your account we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes.

6. Children’s privacy

capVerse is intended for individuals 13+ (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

7. International transfers

We store data on servers located in the United States and may process information in other regions where our vendors operate. By using capVerse you consent to this transfer, even if your home jurisdiction has different data-protection laws.

8. Your rights

You may access, export, correct, or delete personal data through the dashboard or by emailing privacy@capverse.com.

You can opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in our messages.
